Playerunknown’s Battlegrounds adding Sanhok in June

The tropical new island of Sanhok will properly arrive as the third Playerunknown’s Battlegrounds map “near the end of June”, developers PUBG Corp have said ahead of the final public beta test’s launch tonight. If you haven’t dropped on Sanhok yet, you might want to get the download started early today, as it uses a whole separate client.

Stag & hen parties who’d rather not dabble with unknowns get something new this week too, as an update for the main game has arrived with changes including making molotovs and grenades less rubbo. Heck, it’s not a real hen party until you’ve flashbanged the bride. (more…)

When it comes to scenario durations, CMBO is as pedantic as a parks department pedalo führer. Unlike its successors, it always halts battles at precisely the advertised time. Overlordy will have no false dawns… no painfully extended death rattle. The defence of Caent will end in exactly sixty seconds’ time.

Humble’s Arma 2018 Bundle offers military sim for cheap

Bohemia Interactive’s Arma series remain almost uncontested as the games to own if the idea of realistic infantry combat tickles your fancy. The only barriers to entry have really been your willingness to deal with a game that prioritises realism over entertainment, the need for a relatively powerful PC, and the not-insignificant cost of the game itself. The Humble Arma 2018 Bundle fixes a third of those, offering everything in the series to date (minus the latest wave of DLC) for $20.

Raft’s early access is a solid and splendid survival sim

When the waves build, when the wind gathers, and the briny water sloshes over the deck of your precarious floating home, there is absolutely nothing like Raft. While the former Itch.io star shares inevitable comparisons with a few other aquatic survival sims – Stranded Deep, Subnautica, Salt – this dramatic overhaul that has recently arrived into Steam’s early access is very much its own thing. LEGO DC Super-Villains turns baddies good

Seeing DC’s superheroes are as bad as villains these days, at least going by their movies, it’s perhaps no surprise that the villains are becoming heroes. Warner Bros today announced LEGO DC Super-Villains, the latest in the fight-o-build-a-platformer series from TT Games, and it’ll see baddies becoming goodies to save the day. We’ll get to build our own custom villain to lead the adventure, and if your go-to back-up pals aren’t Harley and Ivy then frankly you can just get out. BenQ EW277HDR review: A fantastic budget HDR monitor

One day, I promise to stop banging on about the marvels of HDR (also known as high dynamic range) and why you should really start thinking about upgrading your PC monitor in order to take advantage of its vibrant, life-like colours, increased brightness and general loveliness. Until then, however, I’ve got BenQ’s EW277HDR monitor to have a gander at, which might just be the best monitor for HDR on the cheap I’ve seen so far. (more…)

Video: Beware is Silent Hill meets Mad Max

Driving is not relaxing for me. I failed my driving test nine times before passing, so statistically-speaking, only one in ten driving instructors think I should be out on the roads. I don’t like those odds, and I imagine pedestrians don’t either. When you’ve failed your driving test so prolifically the basic idea of sitting behind the wheel is scary enough without a car of ambiguous meat monsters trying to ram you off the road. But here I am, playing Beware, a survival horror game set inside a single vehicle.
