Of course, more deals will be announced as we get closer to the day itself, but below you’ll find handy answers to questions such as ‘When is Amazon Prime Day 2018?’ and ‘What kind of deals can I expect to see?’ and ‘For the love of PC, JUST TAKE MY MONEY, I don’t care on what!’ All right, so maybe that last one wasn’t so much a question as a general cry of despair in this age of lightning deals and blink and you’ll miss ’em discounts, but that’s where I come in. I’ll be regularly updating this piece with all the most relevant (and good) deals as and when they get announced, but for now, here’s everything you need to know to prep yourself for Prime Day 2018.

Rami Ismail on what indies & AAA can teach each other

Rami, at IGF 2018

Vlambeer’s Rami Ismail (Nuclear Throne, Ridiculous Fishing) is one of the nicest people in the industry. When he’s not hammering away at the code-forge, he’s travelling the world, meeting new people and advocating diversity in games. Recently, he swung by Barcelona to moderate talks at industry conference Gamelab. While he was there, he found the time to give a few interviews, including a particularly interesting (and lengthy) one to Dean Takahashi of VentureBeat’s games division, wherein he detailed the problems faced by both sides of the industry today.

Star Citizen adds mining in latest update

After almost five years on the early access assembling pad, Star Citizen continues to have new booster rockets and decals attached. The space sim launched alpha version 3.2.0 over the weekend, strapping on the thrilling ability to mine spacerock. Hey, it’s a living. Mining is supposed to eventually become a core part of the space sandbox MMO’s economy, though without half the rest of the MMO it’s something to do, innit.
