Silent Hills’ P.T. Hallway Hits PC In Fan Recreation

Calgary-based developer Farhan Qureshi has racked up roughly a lifetime’s worth of nerd cred by recreating the hallway from malaria dream horrorshow P.T. – the teaser for the potential Kojima-directed Silent Hill game that will now never be.

Good news for those of you who have been experiencing the cruel shakes of withdrawal since the original demo was removed from yer PS4. The remake is a one-man effort from Qureshi who describes his work and toil thusly:

The Sunday Papers

Sundays are for finalising tax details and preparing for Gamescom. Fun stuff. Best varnish the day with a spot of the week’s best games writing. And hey! Do you have a personal blog upon which you write about games? Email me. I can only highlight what I know about.

  • Where MOBA tournaments are doing more and more to make themselves accessible to new audiences – with rookie streams and careful commentary – fighting game tournament EVO remains a mystery. If you can’t decipher its matches in real-time, Patrick Miller might be able to help you after the fact by breaking down the top 8 lessons from the tournament. It’s heavy in detail both in terms of the game’s mechanics and the scene’s current state.

The Witcher Is Getting A Pen & Paper RPG Spin-Off

In a move that can only mean they’ve been receiving my daily letters recreating The Witcher [Official Site] for someone whose heart will only recognise games pre-1995, CD Projekt Red are teaming up with the company behind Cyberpunk 2020 to bring The Witcher to tabletops.

And now a nice and hefty update has come its way, bringing with it baddies of a more Dune-Meets-Ancient Greece variety. Or alternatively, Beetlejuice-Meets-Xena, or a different reference you build yourself depending on age and Nerd Pedigree.

The big addition to the game is that minotaurs and burrowing worms, which previously existed in the game as baddies of a lesser degree, now have ultimate forms.

Swedish Horror Story: Fran Bow Launches August 27th

The trailer for Killmonday Games’ first big release Fran Bow [official site] is a doozy – think The Shining by way of Emily The Strange, stylistically creepy with a sort of ’90s scarygirl twang. The story goes something like this: a girl with her best friend/cat are witness to the gruesome murder of her parents. They escape into the woods, only to be split up when she finds herself recovering from shock at an oppressive mental institution for children. There’s a variety of weird things that unfold: skeletal men and clockwork trees, ghosts, a blurring between what’s real and isn’t.

The makers of Just Cause 3 [official site] are letting out a steady trickle of info, which means no longer will you need to search month-old E3 footage for sweet hype to suckle.

The first of five dev diary videos has just released, which gives you a closer look at protagonist Rico Rodriguez. That means who he is, what his skills and abilities are, and how he fits in to the franchise.
