Twin Souls: The Path Of Shadows Has Pretty Dead Things

“The stealth looks too easy, but these murders sure do look pretty,” declare news overlord Alice, as she strokes a cat made out of pale, white bytes. We all nod. In the interstitial place that is the RockPaperShotgun headquarters, all hearts are one. Lince Works’ Twin Souls: The Path of Shadows [official site] is an interesting beast. For a stealth game, the stealth-y parts of this Japanese-flavored work-in-progress don’t look terribly difficult. But the kill sequences, at least in this gameplay video, seem quite elegant.

The Latest Witcher 3 Freebie: A New Quest

This picture explains nothing.

As The Witcher 3 [official site] nears the last of its sixteen planned free ‘DLC’ releases, developers CD Projekt RED are dragging things out, the awful teases. This Wednesday brings only one new pack, rather than the usual two, in the form of a new quest titled ‘Where the Cat and Wolf Play…’. Sounds like another Witcher might be involved in this one, aye?

Devillian: A F2P Action-RPG From The Makers Of Tera

Have we settled on an official name for MMO-y action-RPGs yet? MMO action-RPG? Action-MMORPG? Diablonlines? Hmm. This question is of professional relevance to me, as Tera developers Bluehole Studio are now making one of those there games, whatever they’re called.

Devillian [official site] will have players beat monsters until money and items fall out their guts, but also offer guilds and alliances and wars and whatnot. Rift folks Trion Worlds yesterday announced plans to bring the free-to-play AMMORPG (I like the “ammo” in there, v. action-packed – this could work!) to Europe and North America this year.

Factory-Fresh Smell: Infinifactory Out Of Early Access

Infinifactory [official site] is another thing-making puzzler from SpaceChem chap Zachary Barth, this time going into 3D to set up production lines manufacturing goods for cruel alien overlords. It initially launched incomplete on Steam Early Access in January, though even at the time John was really into it.

Maybe you’d rather wait until it was fully finished before playing yourself. In which case, good news: after five months of updates adding so, so much more, Infinifactory has launched out of Early Access to become a proper released game.

Who Squealed? Hints Of Mafia 3

He is a funny one, that Ian Video Games. I tell you, he spends all his time on The Internet doing the strangest things. No, not like that you cheeky madam. Ian – you’ll love this – he’s working on a sort of a phone book for the Internet, so people can look up any website. He spends all day searching for new sites, and notes every single name he finds in his notebooks. He’s filled hundreds of them! Says he’s taking the idea to Dragon’s Den.

And you’ll never guess what – Ian says in his research (his “research”, lawd!) he found signs that we might hear about a new Mafia game from 2K soon.

Adventure Ho! King’s Quest Episode 1 Priced And Dated

Adventure time!

The new King’s Quest [official site] is the first real test for the glove puppet Activision have made from the flayed hide of Sierra. Will its revival of Ye Olde Sierra adventure game series fill you with warmth and love and joy and nostalgia and make you embrace and kiss the glove, murmuring “I’ve missed you, I’ve missed you so much” as tears runs down your cheeks, or will you slap the leathery paw away and screw your eyes tight repeating “It’s only a dream, it’s only a dream”?

The first episode, A Knight to Remember, will launch on July 28th, Sierra have announced.

Rise Of Incarnates Punches Out Of Early Access

Bandai Namco’s Rise of Incarnates [official site] is a 2v2 multiplayer 3D brawl-o-fighter. Don’t be put off by them calling it a “battle arena”, don’t go thinking it’s a MOBA, it’s not: it’s a game where you and a pal duff up someone else and their buddy. They’re not Heroes, Champions, or Lords, they’re Incarnates – they don’t need AI-controlled creeps to help dole out kickings.

If 2v2 manpunching sounds like a lark to you, head on over to Steam, where Rise of Incarnates has now left Early Access and is free-to-play.
