Minecraft shaders, more often than not, force you to choose which you value more highly with your Minecraft experience: aesthetics, or performance. Shaders are always going to be more taxing on your rig than vanilla Minecraft, so the delights of volumetric lighting, godrays, and world curvature (yeah, seriously) are not available to everyone. But what you might be surprised to find is that nowadays some of the very best Minecraft shaders out there are not only fully up-to-date for Minecraft 1.14, but also highly customisable and lightweight, able to run even on lower-end machines.
